Whitney Houston Dead At 48

Whitney Houston the popular singer has died at age 48. Whitney's voice and image had faded in recent years following years of drug abuse. Whitney's publicist has confirmed the death of the once pop queen. The location and cause of her death has yet to be released.

At her peak Whitney Houston was the best selling artist in the world and also starred in the movies "The Bodyguard" and "Waiting to Exhale". Whitney was a major influence to generations of new artists including Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey.

A recent planned tour fell apart as her early performances and publicity appearances were no up to the standard of perhaps her most popular song, Dolly Parton's "I will always love you".
